Open the Tabs+ admin and click a product from the list to open its detail page. From here you can manage the tabs that appear on that product's storefront page.
Adding a new tab
In the Tabs card, click Add tab.
The new tab section expands. Fill in:
Template - choose Custom for tab content unique to this product, or pick an existing shared tab.
Label - the text customers see on the tab (e.g. “Shipping”).
Icon - an optional icon shown next to the label.
Content - the tab's body. Use the rich-text editor for headings, lists, links, images, video and tables.
Click Publish changes at the top of the page. (Drafts are saved automatically as you type.)
Reordering tabs
Hover over a tab's row to reveal the drag handle on the left, then drag the tab up or down to reorder. The order in the admin matches the order on the storefront.
Renaming or editing a tab
Click any tab row to expand it. Update the label, icon, or content as needed. Click outside the tab to collapse it again. Don't forget to publish.
Removing a tab
Click the trash-can button on the right of a tab row. This only removes the tab from this product - if it's a shared tab, the template itself is unaffected.
What happens to my product description?
Tabs+ does not change the description stored on your product in Shopify. On the storefront, the theme app extension reads your tab content from product metafields and replaces the rendered description with the tabbed layout. Your original description text is still preserved and used as the “main” content unless you decide otherwise.
By default, the main product description appears above the tabs. If you'd prefer it to appear as its own tab, turn on Show main description as tab in the theme app embed settings. See All theme settings explained.
Drafts vs. published changes
As soon as you start editing, a yellow Draft badge appears next to the product title.
Your edits are saved automatically as you go.
Customers won't see your changes until you click Publish changes.
You can preview a draft on the storefront from the action menu: View → View in Theme editor.
To throw away a draft, click Discard changes in the yellow draft banner. This permanently removes unpublished work and reverts to the last published version.
Variant-specific tabs
If your product has variants, you can pick a variant from the left-hand list and add tabs that only appear when that variant is selected on the storefront. See Variant titles and descriptions.
Shared tabs vs. custom tabs
When adding a tab, the Template dropdown lets you choose between:
Custom - content unique to this product. Edit anything, anytime.
A shared tab - content stored centrally and used by many products. The label, icon, and content are taken from the shared tab and can't be edited from this screen. To change them, edit the shared tab itself; every product using it updates automatically. A “Shared tab” badge appears on the tab row to indicate this.
Limits
The Free plan allows you to customise content on up to 5 products. After that, the “Publish” button is disabled until you upgrade to Pro. See Plans & pricing.
Tabs are stored in Shopify metafields, which have a per-metafield size limit. Very large tab content (e.g. multiple high-res images embedded as base64) can hit this limit. Tabs+ will show an error if it does.
