Shared tabs are reusable tab templates. Build a tab once, apply it to many products, update it once and every product updates everywhere. They're perfect for content that's the same across most or all products - shipping policies, return policies, size guides, FAQs, and so on.
Creating a shared tab
From the Tabs+ navigation, open Shared tabs.
Click Create shared tab.
Fill in:
Label - the text customers will see on the tab (required).
Icon - an optional icon shown next to the label.
Internal title (optional) - a name only you see, used in the admin to keep things organised. Useful when two shared tabs would otherwise have the same label.
Content - the tab body, with the same rich-text editor used for products.
Applies to… - visibility (see below).
Click Create shared tab.
Visibility options
When you create or edit a shared tab, you choose where it appears:
All products - the tab is automatically shown on every product page on your storefront. You don't need to manually add it to each product. This is great for global content like shipping or returns.
Specific products - the tab is only shown on products you manually add it to. Use the bulk action on the Products list, or pick the tab from the Template dropdown when editing an individual product.
Please note:
The All products option is only available if your store fits within your plan's product limit. If you're on the Free plan with more than 5 products, you'll need to upgrade to Pro to use this option.
See Plans & pricing for more information.
Editing a shared tab
From Shared tabs, click any tab in the list to edit it. Any changes you save propagate to every product using that shared tab - usually within a few seconds.
What you can edit:
Label, icon, internal title, content.
Visibility (apply to all products vs. specific products).
Deleting a shared tab
From the shared tab edit screen, click Delete. The tab is removed from every product that was using it. This action cannot be undone.
Tab list view
The Shared tabs list shows:
The icon and title of each tab (internal title if set, otherwise the label).
A badge indicating whether it's applied to All products or Specific products.
An Edit button.
Tips
Use internal titles when you have multiple shared tabs that share the same customer-facing label (e.g. two different size guides for different product types).
If you want a shared tab for some products only, set its visibility to Specific products and use the bulk-apply tool to add it from the Products list.
Custom (non-shared) tabs are stored on the product itself. Shared tabs are stored centrally - the product just stores a reference. That's why edits to a shared tab apply everywhere.
